UPPER SHORE AGING, INC. SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 

 Upper Shore Aging is seeking a mission-driven, innovative, results-oriented Executive Director prepared to lead the organization through the evolving landscape that serves our senior population. 
 

Upper Shore Aging, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is the designated Area Agency on Aging for Talbot, Caroline, and Kent Counties, Maryland, serving more than 32,000 seniors. Our organization develops and manages a coordinated program of services that work together with a goal of helping seniors to remain, and live well, in the community as long as possible. Upper Shore Aging, Inc. works closely with the Maryland Department of Aging to serve the needs of our clients. 
 

Mission and Vision: 

Mission: Upper Shore Aging provides programs that enable seniors in Caroline, Kent, and Talbot counties to live healthy, rewarding, independent lives in their own homes. 
 

Vision: An Upper Shore where seniors live in familiar surroundings with respect, independence, and purpose. 
 

Position Description: 

The Executive Director (ED)will report to the Board of Directors and will have responsibility for developing and executing strategic programs, budget, staff leadership and development and overall program management. 

The selected individual will be responsible for increasing the visibility of the organization and the value proposition. This will require the individual to be a leader that is attentive to their fiduciary responsibility, staff, and community so that the investment of time and treasure is maximized. The ED will also work closely with the Board and strategic partners to enhance the impact of the organization. Ultimately, they will assist in executing the mission of Upper Shore Aging. 
 

Priority Skills Desired:

To accomplish a successful transition and advancement of Upper Shore Aging, the following skills will be given priority review: 

  • Communication Skills 

  • Organizational Leadership 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Leading, Management, Fiscal, and Communication to oversee and/or direct multiple programs in multiple locations in accordance with legal, regulatory, evidence-based, person-centered practices and organizational standards. 

  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients, staff, community, funders, legislators, other stakeholders, and the Board of Directors. 

  • Lead the agency’s efforts to implement the mission, vision, values, and organizational culture. 

  • Plan strategically and manage performance measures for data-driven decision-making. 

  • Advocate, market, and develop funds. 

  • Utilize strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking. Demonstrate strong work ethic with a high degree of energy. 

  • Advance the mission of the organization by managing the organizational provision of senior services in accordance with State and Federal mandates and best practices. 

 

Education & Experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Human Service, Social Work or related field and 

10+ years of executive or managerial experience in a non-profit or Human Services organization preferred. 

Compensation: 

The compensation package is competitive with Maryland non-profit organizations of comparable size and complexity. Benefits include paid leave, medical insurance, 403b, mileage reimbursement, and training. Salary will be negotiated commensorate to experience with a range of $100k - $125k.
